Diesel Engine Oils for Trucks, Buses and Off-Highway Fleets

Heavy-duty diesel oil is bought differently from passenger car oil. The buyer is rarely the driver — it is a fleet manager, a workshop chain or a distributor supplying both, and the decision is made on OEM approvals, drain interval and how the oil behaves on high-sulphur fuel. Our commercial range runs from SHPD-equivalent multigrades down to the monogrades that still move in volume across Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia.

What makes this category work under private label is TBN and additive reserve. Fuel quality varies enormously between the markets we ship to, and an oil formulated for European diesel will not survive the same drain interval on fuel with ten times the sulphur content. We build the additive package around the fuel your market actually burns, not around a datasheet, and we say plainly which drain interval the oil will hold under those conditions. All grades are available in 1 L through 20 L containers, 208 L drums, IBC and bulk.

01. SHPD Multigrade — ULTRA APX 15W/40

Our top heavy-duty grade, meeting API CI-4/CH-4/CG-4/CF-4/CF/SL and ACEA E7/E5/E3/B4/B3/A3, with approvals against MB 228.3, MAN 3275, MTU Type 2, Volvo VDS-3, Renault RVI RLD-2, Mack EO-M Plus, Allison C-4, CAT ECF-2 and ECF-1-a, and Cummins CES 20076/77/78. High TBN reserve for high-sulphur fuel, extended drain intervals and proven performance in turbocharged and naturally aspirated four-stroke diesels.

02. Standard Multigrade — APX 15W/40 and 20W/50

API CF-4/CF/SH, ACEA E2, MB 228.1, MAN 271 and MIL-L 2104E. The workhorse grade for mixed fleets, agricultural machinery and generator sets. Detergent-dispersant package that keeps deposits down under heavy load and prevents cold-start wear, with the 20W/50 grade built for sustained high ambient temperatures.

03. Monograde Diesel Oils — ADD Series

SAE 10W, 30, 40 and 50 to API CD/SD, CC/SC and MIL-L 2104B. Cost-effective single grades for medium-duty petrol and diesel engines, formulated from high-quality mineral base oils with an advanced additive system. Still the standard specification in a large number of the markets we supply.

04. Universal Monogrades — GEMA Series

SAE 30, 40 and 50 to API CA/SA and CB/SB, MIL-L 2104B. Paraffinic base oils with a detergent-dispersant package, suitable for both petrol and diesel engines. Where a distributor needs one product covering an ageing mixed parc, this is the grade that does it.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Which OEM approvals do your heavy-duty oils carry?

Our ULTRA APX 15W/40 is formulated against MB 228.3, MAN 3275, Volvo VDS-3, Renault RVI RLD-2, Mack EO-M Plus, Cummins CES 20076/77/78, MTU Type 2, CAT ECF-2 and Allison C-4. Note that these are formulation-level claims rather than individually held OEM licences — if your tender requires a licensed approval in your own brand name, tell us early, because that is a separate process with its own cost and timeline.

2. Can you formulate for high-sulphur diesel?

Yes, and this is usually the first thing we ask about. High-sulphur fuel demands a higher TBN reserve to neutralise combustion acids, and getting this wrong shortens engine life rather than oil life. Tell us the sulphur content of the fuel in your market and we will set the additive treat rate accordingly.

3. Do you supply oils for generator sets and construction plant?

Yes. Stationary generator engines, excavators, loaders and other off-highway plant run on the same four-stroke diesel grades listed above. Generator applications in particular benefit from the ULTRA APX grade because of the sustained load factor.

4. What container sizes suit fleet and workshop customers?

The volume for this category sits in 20 L containers and 208 L drums rather than small bottles, though 1 L, 4 L and 5 L are available for top-up sales. We also supply IBC and bulk for customers with their own decanting operation.

5. How many SKUs should a new heavy-duty brand launch with?

In our experience two: one SHPD multigrade and one monograde. Launching six grades ties up working capital in slow-moving stock. Volumes are set per SKU rather than per order, so a two-product launch keeps the entry commitment manageable — send us your target volumes and we will confirm the minimums.

6. Do you provide comparison data against the brand I currently import?

If you send us the technical data sheet of the product you are replacing, our laboratory will produce a side-by-side property comparison so you can see exactly where the two sit. We will tell you if the incumbent is genuinely a stronger product rather than claim otherwise.
